    Haa Alif

    Thiladhunmathi Uthuruburi (North Thiladhunmathi Atoll), with the Thaana short name (Haa Alif or Haa Alifu), is the northernmost administrative district (district) of the Maldives. It includes the Ihavandhippolhu Atoll and the northernmost part of the very large Thiladhunmathi-Miladummadulhu Atoll. The population is about 13,300.

    15 islands are inhabited, next to the administrative capital on the island of Dhidhdhoo in the Thiladhunmathi Atoll (2,512 inhabitants) are Baarah, Filadhoo, Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo, Hathifushi, Kelaa, Maarandhoo, Mulhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, Thurakunu, Uligamu, Utheemu and Vashafaru. In total, the district comprises 43 islands.

    In the south, the province of Haa Dhaalu joins, to the u. a. a larger northern part of the Thiladhunmathi-Miladummadulhu Atoll belongs.
